Here’s a roundup of products we are loving at the moment, as discussed at our last monthly meet up in April.
Tata Harper Restorative Eye Cream – 15ml £76.00
“During a facial a couple of weeks ago the facialist commented that I had dry skin around my eyes and was lacking in hydration. I’ve never used a dedicated eye cream before but now I’m approaching 30 I thought I should look into it, and incorporate it into my routine. This product came highly recommended by Caroline Hirons and I enjoy Tata Harper products so thought I’d give it a go. I noticed instant results after using this and my eye area looked less tired and the skin brighter, looking forward to seeing the longer term results. I use this AM & PM.”
Aesop Damascan Rose Facial Treatment – 25ml £51.00
“I love anything rose scented, and this dry oil gives my combination and often dehydrated skin a well needed shot of hydration. It absorbs very quickly, and I’m enjoying using it in the evening as part of my routine”
Loving Tan 2 Hour Express Tan – 120ml $39.95
“This is the best fake tan I’ve ever used, and I’ve tried them all. It dries almost instantly, doesn’t smell like old biscuits, and lasts really well on the skin for about 5-7 days. I order it in bulk from Australia as I don’t ever want to run out of this stuff. It’s also Vegan and Cruelty free”
Matrix oil wonders flash blow dry oil – 185ml £10.80
“My hairdresser introduced me to the matrix brand several years ago and have since used the biolage range for my coloured hair. I don’t tend to use any product in my hair due to a sensitive scalp however this oil does do wonders. It’s a blow dry oil infused with Moroccan Argon oil to be used before blow drying on towel dried hair. I also use it to tame any fly always after styling. My hair stays smooth on the first day which it’s never done before, it also reduces drying time which is great for my thick mane!”
La Roche posey thermal spring water – 150ml £5.25
“I purchased this primarily to get me through labour in the birth pool with my second baby. It was a brilliant way to cool down and stay calm. I will be using this throughout the summer months ahead, if the sun in the north decides to come out!
Algenist genius moisturiser – 60ml £85.00
“This is expensive, but it’s absolutely divine! I have always wanted to purchase from the Algenist range since receiving a sample from spaceNK. The yoghurt like texture melts into my skin and leaves it feeling fresh and hydrated all day and night.”
Benefit Roller Lash Mascara – 8.5g £18.45
“It just does what you want it to do, good all dayer, it doesn’t crumble, and you don’t need to curl your lashes before you use it!”
Stila Stay All Day Liner – 0.4g £14.50
“I have been grabbing this felt-tip liner from Stila all the time. I use it for a different purpose to the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner (which is my usual favourite liner)because it has a finer nib and because it’s waterproof, it really does stay all day.”
Lush Strawberry Lip Balm – 4g £5.95
“Fab handbag essential for slapping on without a mirror on the go for some extra moisture, the colour does build as well to a lovely bright pink shade”
Honourable mention to Clinique BIY (Blend It Yourself) drops sample I have been using which has incredible coverage used alone, can’t wait to buy the full size.
Sun Sense 50+ SPF –100ml £16.99
“Has a light tint, and acts as a good base under make up. When I use this I don’t need a primer or a moisturiser as it seems to mattify my skin well before foundation. I would say this SPF is great for anyone with combination skin, or oiliness.”
NYX Dark Circle Concealer Corrector –2.9g £7.00
“This is the first colour correcting product I’ve used and I am completely obsessed, infact this is my second pot of this stuff! It’s a pale peach which helps to counteract blue/purple undereye area before going in with a light skin colour concealer. A high % of the ingredients are coconut oil too!”
Hourglass No28 Lip Treatment Oil – 7.5ml £34.00
“I have been using this on it’s own a gloss, or also layered over a matte liquid lip to make it shiny and more comfortable on the lips. Love the luxurious packaging with minimal waste as you just click out how much product you need each time”
Superdrug Naturally Radiant Glycolic Daily Pads – 60 pads £5.99
“I love Superdrug own brand products as they are all Cruelty Free and labelled as Vegan. These are a great dupe for the Nip and Fab or First Aid Beauty pads. I use these morning and night as a toner, and really enjoying using them”
Hourglass Illusion Foundation – 30ml £45.00
“The coverage of this foundation is heavier than I expected, but I love the creamy formula as it’s hydrating (great for my dry skin). Expensive but worth it.”
Sunday Riley – Juno Oil – 30ml £70.00
“After using this as the final step in my skincare routine in the evening, I see a visible difference in the morning to the plumpness in my skin. It doesn’t smell particularly nice (as most of the SR products!) but I don’t care.”
Honourable mention to the Eyelure Brow mascara which is a tinted brow gel, great for low maintenance brows and filling in the thinner parts of my brows.
Smith and Cult Lash Dance Mascara – 14ml £24.00
“Super thick long lashes in literally one swipe, the texture is quite thick and you have to wipe the applicator off a bit but once you get used to it, it’s amazing lashes super quick. The only downside is it can drop some bits after 8 hours + of wear but that doesn’t bother me!”
Tarte Shape Tape (in shade light) – currently only available in the UK from QVC
“Amazing at covering my acne scars and doesn’t budge. So good I’m just using a tinted moisturiser and conceal where I need more coverage. Blends amazingly well. ”
Tony Moly Tattoo eyebrow pen (in dark brown) – 9g £16.00
“Korean beauty favourite and an eyebrow staple I keep reaching for. I used to be an ABH eyebrow product faithful but I’ve changed how I do my brows so they’re a bit more natural looking. The felt tip applicator helps me draw individual hairs where my eyebrows are patchy and doesn’t budge!
